Far North police officer to face Hughenden Magistrates Court

A Far North police officer is due to appear in court after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence of a prescription drug.

A Far North police officer is due to appear in court after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence of a prescription drug.

The male senior constable, 30, has been served with a notice to appear in relation to allegedly driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of a prescription drug.

The officer was off duty at the time.

He has been stood down from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear before Hughenden Magistrates Court on September 10 for one count of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor or a drug.
