Emergency crews respond to two crashes on Kennedy Highway at Mareeba and Mt Garnet

A semi-trailer has rolled on one section of the Kennedy Highway while two vehicles have been involved in a separate crash on the same road.

EMERGENCY services crews have responded to two separate crashes on the Kennedy Highway this afternoon.

Two vehicles have been involved in a collision near Mareeba.

Paramedics assessed two people at the scene, including one for a leg injury, before they were both taken to Mareeba Hospital in stable conditions, Queensland Ambulance has confirmed.

In a second crash on the same highway, a semi-trailer has rolled between Mt Garnet and Forty Mile Scrub.

Police received the call about 12.50pm and a spokeswoman said there were no injuries reported.

She said there were not expected to be delays as it was off-road, however the Department of Transport and Main Roads has urged motorists to proceed with caution in the area.
