THE biggest resort group in Cairns is offering free upgrades to customers who can show they are fully vaccinated in an effort to open up the Far North.
Crystalbrook Collection will give arriving guests who are double jabbed against Covid-19 the royal treatment with a complimentary room or suite booster at any of their three five-star resorts.
Crystalbrook Collection CEO Geoff York said vaccinations were critical to the tourism and accommodation industry returning to a sense of normality.

“For us, it’s just another means of saying thanks,” he said.
“It’s about appreciation for those who are getting the vaccine.
“Fundamentally, vaccination is the key to the survival of our industry – that’s my mantra these days.”
Guests must book through the Crystalbrook Collection website before October 31 for stays before December 20 and show their Covid-19 certificate on arrival.
The offer applies to Riley, Flynn and Bailey in Cairns, along with the companies resorts interstate.
Mr York said the current workforce across the company’s three Cairns hotels was 70 per cent down on pre-Covid levels.
“It’s the pathway to freedom and the pathway to borders opening one day soon,” Mr York said.
“It’s key to us being able to reopen our hotels, people being able to travel and also, importantly, people getting employed again.”
