Countries enforcing mandatory vaccinations

A MONTH after the mandatory use of the Check In Queensland app locals are already seeing some complacency.

Cairns local Josie McDonnell said she had seen complacency creeping in.

Ms McDonnell said she understood that people had to get used to it but believed it was a necessary step in keeping people safe.

“Sometimes you have to be mindful of having your phone in your bag,” she said.

“We had to sort of get used to it because we like to get out to the shops.”

Business owners have also welcomed the introduction of the check in app, saying the process was easy for them.

Cairns Books’ owner Mark Steedman said: “If you want businesses to be compliant, you have to make it easy because we have other stuff to do. And they did, it’s worked really well,” he said.
