A FAR Northern adventure provider has launched a new foodie tour to give locals and domestic travellers a taste of the tropics.
Cairns Tasting Tours is the brainchild of Konrad Borowiecki, who pivoted after Covid brought international tours to “a screeching halt.”
“We are new to the domestic market as most of our marketing was done through our overseas partners,” Mr Borowiecki said.
The new foodie package began with a pilot tour in April.
“The response has been positive,” Mr Borowiecki said.
“The businesses have been really accommodating and helpful with promotions.”

The current full day tour gives visitors a taste of the Cassowary Coast, Tablelands and some Cairns attractions.
“We go down to the Misty Mountains where there is a native Australian food orchard, taste their products and have an educational talk,” Mr Mr Borowiecki said.
“Then we have lunch at Mungali, and go to the highest altitude coffee plantation in Australia.”
The tour then takes in the Mt Uncle Distillery, vineyard outside Mareeba and makes its way to Mcalister's Brewery at Smithfield.
Mr Borowiecki said an urban tastes tour is in the works.
“We will walk around town to the funkiest cafes, breweries, distilleries and restaurants,” he said.
Full tours currently run on Fridays and Saturdays, but smaller couples’ tours are available on request and local residents’ discounts apply.
