Cairns cops got more than they bargained for when they were searching a vehicle on the eve of Halloween.
Two officers were hilariously caught on camera as one of them walked right into a “massive” spider web.
“That's a massive spider web, get it off me,” one of the officers said.
As the two are standing in a dark field under a giant tree, his colleague brushes the spider web off his shoulder, illuminating his mate with a torch.
One of the officers yell, “spider, spider,” as a giant spider crawls across his comrades shoulder.
“Bro, that is huge,” he said.
“That’s probably the biggest spider I’ve ever seen.”
They quickly brushed it off, and the two cops got back to work, as you hear them laughing through the fear, proving that even in the line of duty, a little humour goes a long way.
This comes as the Queensland Police Service are gearing up for a night filled with ghoulish fun and sweet treats on Thursday and want to remind all the candy-crazed vampires, witches, goblins, and ghouls (along with their parents) to trick or treat safely.
Sergeant Cary Coolican has a Halloween message of the ‘booos’ or don’ts’ for those participating in trick or treating this year.
“We want to remind our community that not everyone is into Halloween, so be respectful of those not wanting to participate,” a spokesman from the Queensland Police said.
Sergeant Coolican said adults are reminded to keep their little monsters safe this spooky season.
“Parents are encouraged to remain vigilant with your little trick or treaters, as even the scariest little monsters should be accompanied by an adult,” she said.
Queensland Police have made posters for print available for Halloween enthusiasts and those who prefer to avoid the spooky festivities.
The easy to print at home or a local print shop posters, ‘Trick or Treaters Welcome’ and ‘Please Do Not Knock’, help identify those wanting to participate and anyone wanting to opt out of the evening's festivities.
