A Cairns guitarist refuses to take no for an answer, auditioning for his fourth time on Australia’s Got Talent — this time, with a quirky new trick.
John Buttigeig was super nervous ahead of the airing of his latest attempt at stardom but thought his ability to play two guitars at once might push him over the line.
“I learnt how to play the 12-string guitar and the six-string guitar and I used to walk around with it side-by-side and people used to joke and say ‘are you going to play both at the same time?’” he said.
“And I tried it and it worked and it sounded really nice.”
Previously auditioning in 2011, 2010 and 2019, Mr Buttigeig said winning Australia’s Got Talent was a “big dream” for him after watching guitarists perform on the show when he was younger.
“I’m just finishing my IT degree but I decided not to take these two job offers but I took the other direction and decided to play music,” he said.
Mr Buttigeig’s episode will be aired on Sunday, at 7pm.
