A SILVER lining has emerged from the collapse of Michael Trout’s iconic Far North adventure tourism business Blazing Saddles due to lockdowns.
Mr Trout had been terrified about what future lay ahead for his horses after being forced to end his Yorkeys Knob property lease and put the animals up for sale.

He was over the moon when new East Barron riding school, the Meraki Equestrian Centre called saying it wanted to buy all nine of his working horses.

“It’s just amazing, they all get to stay together,” Mr Trout said.
“It’s easy to sell the pretty ones, but then the ones that are harder workers but not as presentable get left over. I could not be happier.
“Now they will be groomed, fed and looked after for the rest of their lives.”
Mr Trout is still deciding what to do with his breeding mares but hopes to find them loving homes.
