Paramedics responded to an accident early Monday morning after a moving vehicle hit a pedestrian in a Cairns suburb.
A Queensland Ambulance Services (QAS) spokeswoman said emergency responders were called just before 5.30am to the site of an accident on McCoombe Street in Bungalow.
A man, possibly in his 20s, was hit by a moving car, she said.
The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 40km/hr.
The man suffered abdominal injuries and was transported in a stable condition to Cairns hospital.
A police media spokesman said the man was in an agitated state but there was no other serious damage or road closures at this point.
The incident follows a more serious car crash ten days ago where a 23-year-old man passed away after being hit by a car in Millstream, more than 120km west of Cairns.
