A campervan crashed and rolled three times on the Tully Mission Beach Rd near Merryburn, two people injured and transported

Paramedics, firefighters and police have atteneded a crash where a campervan rolled times before coming to rest on a popular road south of Cairns.

Two patients are lucky to not to have sustained serious injuries after their campervan rolled three times on a Far North road on Saturday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics had assessed two people following a campervan rollover on the Tully Mission Beach Rd near Merryburn shortly before 4.40pm.

”It appears two people have minor injuries and will transported to Tully Hospital,” she said.

“One person will be transported sitting and the other will be stretchered.”

A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said three fire crews had been sent to the incident

“Our crews attended crash where a campervan rolled three times,” she said.

“Initially, we thought one person was entrapped but they managed to free themselves.

“Firefighters have remained to ensure the scene is safe.”

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers were at the incident.

She police urged all drivers to take extra care and allow for additional travel time when driving.

It’s been a busy 24 hours for emergency services in the Far North with a number of vehicle crashes including a two vehicle crash at Walkin on the Atherton Tablelands and in Cairns when a man was injured in a motorcycle crash at Kewarra Beach.
