Hundreds of jobs available at Cairns Jobs Fair including Fitzroy Island, Crystalbrook Collection

Over 800 jobs were on offer at the Cairns Jobs Fair on Tuesday with some cool and exciting opportunities available. FIND OUT WHERE

LOOKING after the children of celebrities and working on an island are just a few of the job opportunities that are currently available in Cairns.

The Cairns Jobs Fair was a success with over 50 employers and over 800 jobs on offer on Tuesday.

Fitzroy Island are offering a range of jobs including front office manager, housekeepers and kitchen steward.

The Department of Skills, Education and Employment have hosted the Cairns Jobs Fair, with dozens of employers offering hundreds of jobs to Cairns job seekers. Jaclyn Fischer from Woree said it was a dream to work on an Island.

“Who doesn’t dream about that – the palm trees and the beach around you. I think everyone would like to work in paradise,” she said.

Fitzroy Island HR co-ordinator Victoria Phillips said there were lots of staff benefits.

“We have a lot of things that staff can access including a staff gym, hikes, snorkelling for free and glass bottom boats for free,” she said.

Nannies on a Mission had 15 different jobs on offer. Some exciting opportunities include when movies are filmed in FNQ and they need people to look after the celebrities children.

As Cairns begins to open up, many in the tourism industry are looking for staff including Shangri-La the Marina and the Crystalbrook Collection who had 65 jobs going. Some areas were house keeping, food and beverage and spa therapists.

There were many manufacturing jobs at the Fair as well as jobs at Dawson’s Engineering.

It was looking for fitters, boiler makers, planned operators and document writers.
