A thick blanket of fog has descended over Brisbane city, reminiscent of the conditions which gripped the city’s suburbs last week.
Visibility has been drastically reduced, however, the low-lying fog is not having a major impact on school holiday flights leaving today.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Brooke Pagel said the patchy fog episode was not as serious as last week’s.
“We started to see it roll in around 5.30am this morning from the Toowoomba and Darling Downs regions,” Ms Pagel said.
“By 7.30am it had gotten thicker and is kind of right now hovering over Brisbane City, however, its patchy so some parts of the city might not be affected.”
Ms Pagel said the fog would dissipate as the temperature warmed up and the sun got higher in the sky.
