FORMER NRL star Brett John Seymour has had his bail conditions relaxed with an order to remove an ankle bracelet he has had to wear while on remand.

Charges against the 35-year-old were mentioned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday though the former Brisbane Bronco, Cronulla Sharks and New Zealand Warriors player, who has been living in Brisbane, was not required to be in court.

Seymour has not as yet been required to enter pleas to charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, and breaching a court order relating to alleged incidents in Toowoomba earlier this year.

At previous mentions of the case, his Brisbane-based solicitor Patrick Murphy had told the court his client intended to plead guilty to the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm but would contest the other matters.

No details of the police allegations have as yet been aired in court.

Seymour was remanded on strict bail, with the ankle bracelet condition removed, with the case adjourned for mention back in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on January 13.
