A father-of-two is being remembered as a friend with a heart of gold after he died in a workplace incident on Christmas Eve.

Aaron Greentree, 29, was electrocuted while working at a house in Sydney’s southwest on Tuesday morning, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Emergency services were called to the house on Jet Place in Eagle Vale following reports a man had been electrocuted.

Mr Greentree could not be revived.

A fundraiser was started on Wednesday afternoon for Mr Greentree’s partner and two young daughters, and has garnered more than $18,000 in less than 24 hours.

“On Tuesday … we got the devastating news our ball-breaking, heart-of-gold friend Aaron, while doing what he did best, helping a mate out, was involved in a fatal accident,” the fundraising organiser wrote.

“Aaron was the life of every party, the jokester, the funny, gentle giant that was an amazing mate.”

“Devastatingly he has left behind his two beautiful daughters Alaska and Skylar and their mummy Tia, who are struggling to find the sense in this all.

“To assist in finding their way in their new life, we have started a GoFundMe to support any financial and emotional challenges they will face going into the year.”

A person closed to Mr Greentree’s family told The Daily Telegraph: “We can’t even begin to understand this … he was the best dad, we are shattered for his girls”.

Police referred the incident to SafeWork NSW after setting up a crime scene.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
