The bus drove directly into the house, leaving the front of the property completely ripped apart, scraps of wood and debris dangling from the wreckage and the roof partially caved in. Reports from The Daily Telegraph indicate the bus was travelling at approximately 60km/h when it smashed into the home.

Paramedics from NSW Ambulance were on the scene and treated one person, who was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police confirmed the residents inside the property were evacuated due to a gas leak, triggered by the crash.

“The bus driver – a 60-year-old man – was subject to a roadside breath test, returned with a negative result,” a NSW Police spokesman told NewsWire.

Guildford Rd, near the intersection of Vulcan St, has been closed off in both directions while police conduct an investigation into the crash.

The public have been urged to avoid the area at this time.
