Queensland Police charge 42-year-old Varsity Lakes man with attempted murder
Police have charged a 42-year-old man with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man in a hotel room.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of another man who was allegedly stabbed in a hotel room.
Emergency crews were called to the Mantra Hotel on Mary St in Brisbane’s CBD about 10.30am on Sunday after reports of an altercation.
Queensland Police will allege the 42-year-old man visited the Mary St property, where a 48-year-old man was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the abdomen.
He was also treated by paramedics for lacerations to his leg and arms.
The Varsity Lakes man also sustained a cut to his arm during the incident, according to police.
Both men were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Subsequent investigations led police to charge the Varsity Lakes man with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.
He has been denied police bail and will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 14.
