A Sydney man has been extradited from Queensland more than two years after allegedly threatening a woman known to him before leaving the state.

Police launched an investigation in early-2022 into allegations a man threatened and stalked a woman known to him in NSW before leaving for Queensland.

Following an extensive investigation, police from both NSW and Queensland arrested a 33-year-old man at a home in Calliope in the Gladstone region on Monday.

The man appeared before Gladstone Magistrates Court on Thursday where an application was granted to have the man extradited to NSW that same day.

The man was escorted from Sydney Airport to Surry Hills police station where he was charged with a string of domestic violence and fraud offences.

He was charged with three counts of stalking, and one count each of DV-related attempting to stalk and breaching an apprehended violence order.

The man also faces allegations he used a carriage service to menace or harass as well as dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
