Child flown to hospital after house fire in Maryborough, Victoria

Emergency services were called to a house fire, with reports the occupants, including a young child, needed rescuing.

A young child has been flown to hospital following a house fire in northwest Victoria.

Emergency services were called following reports of a house fire on Barr St, Maryborough, north of Ballarat, about 11.40am on Thursday.

It’s understood people had to be rescued from inside the house, including a one-year-old child.

Paramedics treated the child at the scene before they were flown by helicopter to hospital.

Emergency services remain on the scene.
