A truck driver who was trapped in his vehicle after a rollover has died, as a Gold Coast hinterland road remains closed.
Emergency services were called to the crash just before 9.40am on Wednesday, after reports a truck had rolled on Beechmont Rd at Witheren.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said it was understood the truck was driving along Beechmont Rd, near Rhoades Rd when it veered off the road and went down an embankment.
The man, who was driving the truck and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.
“The Forensic Crash Unit will be investigating the cause of the traffic crash,” the QPS spokeswoman said.
Beechmont Rd near Rhoades Rd remained closed in both directions at 12pm on Wednesday.
