Do you want to work in the biggest newsroom in the state on the stories that matter most to Queenslanders?
The Courier-Mail is seeking applicants for our 2021 Graduate Trainee Journalist program based in Brisbane.
You will work with a team that prides itself on setting the news agenda in Brisbane and Queensland.
More than 2.1 million Queenslanders rely on The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail in print and digital for their news each month.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position offering workplace training across The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail.
If you are a final-year journalism student or recent graduate who has a passion for news in both print and online, we would love to hear from you!
This program will commence in late January 2021.
How to Apply?
There is bound to be strong competition for places in this program, so we ask that you address the following criteria:
1. In 300 words or fewer, explain why you want to be a journalist
2. Provide examples of published work (3-5 in either print or multimedia)
3. Outline any multimedia skills, experience with social media and online broadcasting
4. Pitch ideas for three news stories suitable for publication in The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail in 400 words or fewer per idea. Include suggestions about how you would treat this story in print and digital.
