A teenage boy will face a judge after his DNA was matched to an alleged indecent assault in Alice Springs in July last year.
NT Police arrested the 14-year-old boy on Tuesday, February 4 at a Grevillea Drive, Sadadeen residence.
The alleged assault occurred seven months ago on July 25 last year.
Police allege the boy had been peeping through the windows of a woman’s home about 6.20pm on that date.
The boy is alleged to have smashed through her front door before indecently assaulting her.
The woman managed to fight off the boy and he ran away.
He remained outstanding until his arrest on Tuesday.
His arrest comes after police say the boy’s DNA – which had been taken in relation to separate alleged property offending in December last yer – matched to the forensics taken from the alleged July assault.
He has been charged with counts of gross indecency without consent, aggravated assault, burglary, and damage to property.
He will front court on Wednesday.
Acting Commander Drew Slape said the alleged assault had been a “traumatic attack” for the woman.
