‘World domination’ is not the focus of a Red Centre brewery, which has acquired a new beer garden and brewery with a sea breeze in another state, but it is on its way.
On Wednesday, Alice Springs Brewing Co announced it had acquired Beer Garden Brewing in Port Lincoln, South Australia.
With the exact figure not disclosed due to the nature of the deal, the Red Centre brewery will be at the reins of the Port Lincoln venue by the first week of December, Alice Springs Brewing Co director Kyle Pearson said.
“We’ve spent a lot of times focusing less on world domination and focusing on doing well in Alice Springs and all the Territory,” he said.
The move would allow the Territory brewery to have business in opposite tourist seasons, Mr Pearson said.
“We have admired the brewery from afar for a number of years and have noticed many similarities between Beer Garden Brewing and what we do here in Alice Springs,” he said.
“We look forward to continuing the hard work of the previous ownership and building on what is already a strong foundation, while also adding a few of those touches that visitors to Alice Springs have come to know and love.”
The acquisition was just one of many big ventures planned for 2025, Mr Pearson said, with the next focus on expanding brewery floor space at the Alice Springs headquarters.
“We’re looking to increase the floor space but also bring in some bigger tanks as well; just coming off the back of the success of the Territorian beers, they’ve done really well,” he said.
“We’re really happy with how the Northern Territory’s supported those beers.”
