A second person has died while driving in Far North Queensland this weekend
Far North Queensland's horror weekend on the roads has claimed a second life after a man died in a quadbike rollover west of Cairns.
A man has died following a quadbike rollover west of Cairns, marking the end of a horror weekend on Far North Queensland roads.
Paramedics were called to a private home on Middlebrook Road near Ravenshoe on Sunday afternoon after his vehicle rolled on the property.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed paramedics arrived on scene at 2.55pm and treated a man with life threatening injuries.
It is understood the man died shortly after and was declared dead at the scene.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the male was the only person involved in the incident and the crash is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The tragedy marks the second fatality on Far North roads this the weekend.
Earlier on Sunday, a motorbike rider was killed after they collided with a car towing a trailer on the Gillies Highway.
Paramedics were called to the top of the highway outside Yungaburra State School where they treated the rider for life threatening conditions.
It is understood he was declared dead at the scene.
Following the crash police closed the Gillies Range Road to all traffic in both directions east of Boar Pocket Road for a number of hours before reopening to traffic at 4.30pm.
