16-Year-Old charged after alleged burglary, car theft, and police vehicle ramming in Alice Springs

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged break-in in Alice Springs that led to stolen vehicles, property damage, and a police car being rammed.

Police say a home on Burke Street, East Side, was allegedly broken into on Friday night, with car keys reported stolen.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the offenders are believed to have returned to the property and taken two vehicles, which were later used in a series of alleged crimes, including ramming a police car.

Officers from Southern Investigations and Strike Force Viper tracked down and arrested the teenager in connection with the initial burglary.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, damage to property, theft, and breaching bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Investigations are ongoing to identify other suspects involved.
