A 52-YEAR-OLD Toowoomba man charged with fraud to the value of more than $100,000 has had his case adjourned in the city's Magistrates Court.

David James Craigen was not required to be in court when his case was mentioned yesterday and his appearance was excused.

His solicitor Amber Acreman, of David Burns Lawyers, told the court the defence had been negotiating with the prosecution on the charges and that the matter was expected to go by registry committal up to the District Court.

Craigen has not been required as yet to enter pleas to two counts of fraud - dishonestly cause detriment by employee to the value of at least $100,000 - believed to arise from his time with a business in Toowoomba.

No specific details of the case have as yet been aired in court and Ms Acreman asked the case be adjourned.

Magistrate Kay Ryan therefore adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on Friday.
