Wild footage has captured a violent road rage incident in Adelaide, with two men seen punching each other at a busy intersection while motorists watched on.
Police were called to Hackney Road, Adelaide just after 12pm on Friday following reports an altercation had broken out between two drivers.
In video footage taken by a fellow driver, two men can be seen pulling up at red traffic lights before getting out of their cars and charging towards each other.
The situation quickly turned violent when the men – one in a black singlet and the other in a high-vis vest – began pushing and punching each other.
As the pair continued to throw punches, a woman got out of her car in an attempt to quell the situation.
However she was unsuccessful and the pair continued to brawl in the middle of the busy street.
At one point, the man in the black singlet returned to his car but the driver in the high-vis vest continued to throw punches through his open window.
It is not clear what triggered the fight, however, the pair were reportedly spotted swerving in front of each other on Northcote Terrace before the fight broke out, according to 9News.
A witness told the outlet he was “worried” the woman who had gotten out of her car to help would have ended up getting hurt herself.
“It was pretty brave of her to get out of the car,” he said.
“[The situation was] definitely a first, I wouldn’t forget it.”
The drivers reportedly retuned to their vehicles and sped away when the lights turned green.
A South Australia police spokesman told news.com.au police have obtained details of the cars involved and are “investigating the matter”.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
