Significant damage was caused to the road, footpath and fencing as a result of the sinkhole, which was caused by a burst Water Corporation water main.
WA Police responded to the scene and taped off a large section around the car to avoid public interference.
A spokesperson directed news.com.au’s enquiry to Water Corp, which has “sincerely apologised” to everyone affected.
“Water Corporation crews are working to repair a damaged water main on Centro Avenue, Subiaco which caused a parked vehicle to become submerged in a sinkhole,” a Water Corp spokesperson told news.com.au.
“There were no occupants in the vehicle and our customer support team is providing full support to the owner. There are no reports of injuries, and we would like to thank emergency services who attended the site to render support.
“Crews have been working throughout the evening and morning to effect repairs and works will continue today to ensure the road is safe to reopen.
“There are three properties without water and bottled water is available onsite for those who need it. Traffic management is on site and road diversions are in place. Motorists are asked to please show caution in the area.
“The cause of the burst is being investigated. We sincerely apologise to those affected.”
It was estimated about 60 surrounding homes and businesses were left without water temporarily.
