2026 Lamborghini Temerario launches in Australia

The most revolutionary model from the Italian supercar brand has just arrived in Australia and it’s more powerful than its predecessor.

Lamborghini Temerario arrives in Australia

Lamborghini is bidding farewell to its naturally aspirated V10 and stepping into the world of electrification.

The Italian carmaker has dropped the covers on the all-new Temerario. It’s another example of the boundary-pushing innovations the Italian brand stands for.

The Temerario is the successor to the Huracán, trading its iconic V10 engine for a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that’s paired with three electric motors — delivering serious performance.

With aggressive styling and aerodynamic efficiency, the Temerario boasts a combined output of 676kW, capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 2.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 343km/h.

Despite being the successor to the long-serving V10 Huracán, Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann insists the V8 hybrid replacement is no downgrade.

“Temerario marks a bold step forward in both performance and innovation while staying true to the brand’s DNA,” Mr Winkelmann said.

“I’ve driven the car several times in the last year and it’s really a fantastic car.

“The downgrade from V10 to V8, in my opinion, is not a downgrade; it’s just a different approach.”

The V8 turbo hybrid revs to a screaming 10,000rpm and doesn’t develop maximum power until it reaches 9000rpm. However, it’s the three electric motors that are key to the Temerario’s huge performance increase over the old V10 Huracán.

Temerario’s design now features a distinctive hexagonal Daytime Running Light (DRL) that makes the car easily recognisable from a distance. The hexagon shape is a key theme used throughout the car’s design, including the bodywork, air intakes, tail-lights, and exhaust pipe.

And not only that, the car uses these hexagon-shaped lights to act as air channels to enhance aerodynamics and cool the brakes for better performance.

An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission takes care of gear shifting.

Unlike other hybrid supercars, Lamborghini has kept a mechanical reverse gear instead of using its electric motor for reversing.

The hybrid system draws current from a compact 3.8kWh battery pack mounted low-down in the engine bay. Electric driving is possible for a range of 11km.

Supercars aren’t typically associated with comfort. However, Lamborghini claims the Temerario “offers significantly more interior space than its predecessor.”

Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, an 8.4-inch infotainment interface, and a 9.1-inch passenger screen. Of course, there’s also the signature flip-up starter button on the centre console.

There’s an impressive 34mm increase in headroom and 46mm more legroom compared to the Huracán, making it a comfortable fit for passengers up to 200cm tall — even with a helmet on.

Beyond its exhilarating performance, the Temerario also delivers on practicality.

There’s 112-litre of storage in the compartment under the front hood, perfect for cabin sized suitcases and space behind the seats for everyday items.

The Lamborghini Temerario comes equipped with 13 driving modes: Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa, Drift, Recharge, Hybrid, E-Mode, Wet, Comfort, Eco, Individual, and Track – allowing the driver to adjust the car’s performance to suit different conditions and preferences.

Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director of Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific says, “It (Temerario) represents the perfect fusion of pure, innovative design, heart-stopping performance and exceptional versatility.”

“Whether cruising the city streets or dominating the track, the Temerario promises a thrilling and emotional driving experience tailored to unique preferences of every customer.”

The Temerario can be expected to arrive in Australia in the first half of 2026 with a starting price of $613,885 plus on road costs, making it $155,000 more expensive than the Huracán Evo AWD it replaces.
