2024 Hyundai i30N sedan revealed

One of the most popular car brands in the country has revealed details of an updated model that gives owners plenty of bang for their buck.

Hyundai has whipped the covers off its updated i30 N sedan.

The potent four-door is priced from $52,000 (before on-road costs), which is an increase of $1800 on last year’s model.

Despite its price rise it still undercuts the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Honda Civic Type R and Skoda Octavia RS by thousands of dollars.

The popular maker has given the small performance car’s styling a refresh, upgraded its chassis and added more tech to the list of standard equipment.

Hyundai Australia boss Ted Lee says the company has drawn inspiration from its success on the global TCR racing series for the i30 N sedan.

“With its upgraded chassis, aggressive style and new features, 2024 i30 Sedan N provides an even more engaging and dynamic package for our N-thusiast customers,” he says.

It retains the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 206kW and 392Nm. Buyers pay the same whether they choose a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed dual-clutch auto.

The front-wheel drive performance car’s aggressive styling has been tweaked with new front and rear bumpers, LED headlights, black 19-inch alloy wheels and black exterior badges.

Hyundai says it has given the i30 N sedan motorsport-derived upgrades that boost its driving dynamics.

These include improved suspension and steering that makes it better balanced and sharper to drive.

There are increased in-car device charging options and a speed warning safety feature that beeps when the car exceeds the speed limit.

Hyundai’s new Bluelink tech, which allows owners to access functions and services via an app, is also standard.

The i30 N also comes with a wide array of active driver aids and safety tech, as well as dual 10.25-inch digital displays – one for the infotainment and the other for the driver’s instruments.

There are multiple driving modes including Sport and Comfort that alter the car’s throttle response, suspension stiffness and exhaust note.
