‘You can’t make this stuff up!’ Aussies shocked by delivery fail

While some think it's hilarious, others wonder who is at fault.

One Aussie has taken to social media to share their latest mishap - and now people are divided on just what caused it.

“You cannot make this stuff up!!!”

A Brisbane local has taken to Reddit to share an image of a delivery they received earlier this month.

Unfortunately, it seems that the package wasn’t quite left in the ‘safe place’ they wanted, and was instead signed by… their puppy.

“Delivery drivers these days…” the post began.

“This is the photo the FedEx driver took of my parcel being delivered. You cannot make this stuff up!!!”

In the photo provided, the poor pup is seen latching onto the package - hopefully it wasn’t fragile!

‘I can take it from here thanks’

Commenters on the post thought the post was hilarious, cracking jokes about the image.

“I can't tell if he passed it to your dog or your dog was like ‘I can take it from here thanks’. Love the in action photo haha,” one person said.

“ATL Automatic is an interesting name for you dog,” referencing the name FedEx says the package was signed for by.

Others even shared their own similar stories - complete with photos (above).

“I got one of those too,” said one person.

“Gives same vibe as my Hello Fresh delivery,” another said.

Who’s at fault?

While the poster intended for it to be lighthearted, many commenters began to debate just who was at fault for the package ending up in the hands of the dog.

Given that the poster specified they’d requested for the package to be left in their large letterbox, some said it was the delivery driver who caused what happened.

“Had this happen to me once. Postie just threw the package over the fence and I came home to it torn to shreds by my dogs. Managed to get a full refund as the delivery instructions were to take it to the post office. Funny photo but can also be so infuriating,” one commenter shared.

However, others said it was the poster’s fault for having their dog out.

“I feel for these posties having to deal with potentially aggressive untrained dogs daily. This one is on you man,” one person said.

“So are they meant to risk their livelihood for your parcel? Maybe make sure there is a safe (dog free) area to deliver. It is not on society to like your dog,” said another.

“This made me laugh, but at the risk of sounding like a jerk, if it’s your dog that’s on you,” a third agreed.
