“I’m convinced they’re changing their prices”

Aussie TikTok creator Alfie Shacklock has taken to the app after an odd experience at his local Yo-Chi.

Alfie said that he purchased his usual bowl - with a little extra added on - though that wasn’t reflected in the price.

“Guys, I am convinced Yo-Chi charge different prices at different points in the day,” he said.

“This is my exact same order I always have, but I decided to treat myself, have some more yoghurt than usual and fill it to the top. And it was $12!

“This is usually like $15, sometimes $16. This was $12.”

Alfie said he believes Yo-Chi is changing their prices, with peak days and times costing shoppers more.

“I’m convinced they’re changing their prices depending on the time and days, because a Friday evening, this is always $16, I go today and it is $12 on a random Wednesday evening,” he said.

“I don’t know if anyone else can agree, but I definitely think Yo-Chi are changing their prices.”

Commenters were torn

A number of commenters on the now-viral video agreed with Alfie, saying they’d experienced this shift as well.

“One time I paid $17 for my exact same $13 bowl,” one commenter said.

“I agree!! I went with my friend is was $27 for both of us, a week later went with my husband and 2 nieces and it was $22????” said another.

“I had the same experience,” a third agreed.

However, others weren’t so sure, flagging other reasons the price may have changed.

“This happens to me often but I always assume they accidentally like pressed the keep cup or smth,” one person suggested.

“Sometimes the scales are negative so when you put your yochi on it becomes cheaper,” said another.

“They have sales,” a third person said.

We know the truth!

Yo-Chi’s COO, Brooke Rodger confirmed the truth to Kidspot - and we have good news (or bad news).

“We can promise that Yo-Chi pricing is purely based on the weight of what's in a customers' cup,” she told Kidspot.

“That way our customers can add as much or as little as they like, and know that the cost will reflect that.

“But we commend his commitment to trying to replicate the exact amount of yogurt and topping each time!”
