Queenslanders dreaming of a 2025 Euro summer now have a new seat to consider. Take a look on what’s on offer from premium economy to incredible first-class luxuries.
Queensland globetrotters eyeing off their next big European adventure now have a new way to fly.
Emirates’ flagship Airbus A380 – the world’s largest passenger plane, has touched down in Brisbane, and is now offering premium economy seats on daily services between Dubai and Brisbane.
This makes Brisbane one of just a few cities globally offering four-class A380 service, joining Sydney and Melbourne, who launched in 2022 and 2011.
Destinations reachable on the A380 include popular UK and European routes like London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, and more via Dubai.
Flight EK434 departs Dubai at 10:35am and arrives in Brisbane at 06:25am the next day, while Flight EK435 departs Brisbane at 9:00pm and arrives in Dubai at 05:25am the next day.
Premium economy flights to Dubai during peak season start at more than $3,000 – nearly double the price of your standard economy ticket. While business and first-class return tickets start from more than $8,000 and $13,000 respectively.
Emirates regional sales manager Adam D’ambros said the benefit of premium economy is it “gives passengers a lot more choice in the way they fly.”
“You get that extra bit of leg room, elevated dining and dedicated menus,” he said.
“It’s an elevation from economy, and is in between your business class.”
The double-decker plane is the only aircraft capable of carrying over 850 passengers.
The retrofitted four-class A380 features 14 first-class suites, 76 lie-flat seats in business class, 56 premium economy seats and 322 economy seats.
The premium economy cabin is located at the front of the main deck laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration.
With six-way adjustable headrests, a footrest and a recline, each seat (19.5-inch-wide) has a 13.3 inch screen with more than 6,500 channels, in-seat charging points and a wood-finished side cocktail table.
It also includes a welcome drink, an extended beverage list, a selection of special meals, and access to the bar.
Some first-class features, in comparison, include 14 private suites in 1-2-1 configuration with closing doors and lie-flat seats (82-inches long). They have multi-course meals on offer with Dom Pérignon and caviar service, 32-inch high definition screens, a personal minibar, and shower spa access.
