Cricketer Usman Khawaja and wife Rachel have revealed their favourite hidden spots and foodie finds in Brisbane.

What time do you wake up on a Saturday?

Life after a baby sadly means no more sleep-ins, so Saturday mornings are around 6.30am when (daughter) Aisha, 1, wakes up!

Best place to go with kids?

Minibounce at Carindale is a great spot for little ones – they have a cafe there so the adults can sit and relax while the kids have fun playing.

Favourite park?

I love Rocks Riverside Park at Jindalee. They have a great water play area for kids and the park is in a great spot away from any main roads.

Local coffee haunt?

Our favourite cafe is Little Black Pug in Mount Gravatt … great food, great people and we can take (our cavalier king charles spaniel) Lebron along with us as well.

Favourite takeaway?

Our go-to takeaway would probably be Grill’d, easy and delicious!

Where and when do you exercise?

Rachel: I exercise at Duo pilates at Camp Hill. The instructors are amazing.

Best spot for date night?

We haven’t been on many date nights since we had Aisha but when we get the chance we love going to a nice steak restaurant, most recently probably SK Steak & Oyster, Fortitude Valley.

Best hidden treasure in Queensland?

We recently discovered the Manly Boathouse which is a great spot either for a fancy dinner, lunch or more casual fish and chips. It’s on the water and there are lots of kids and dogs around so everyone is welcome.

Favourite place to holiday in Queensland?

We have always loved the Sunshine Coast. Maleny Manor was where we got married and we love going back there!

What’s your perfect Saturday?

A perfect Saturday for me would start with a sleep-in and then off to brunch with Uzzy, Aisha and Lebron, then maybe a trip to a park. Relaxing at home in the afternoon, then off to a nice date night with Uzzy while the grandparents babysit.
