Uber boat service is here to elevate Europe summer

It's being called "the most luxurious mode of transport ever to launch on the Uber app", and will give travellers the chance to live a first-class lifestyle at a fraction of the cost.

If you've ever seen photos of celebs looking super glam on a yacht in the Mediterranean, or on a speed boat in Venice and thought "I think that look would suit me," then this news is going to be music to your ears.

Today Uber has unveiled its latest offering, which is being called "the most luxurious mode of transport ever to launch on the Uber app".

You can now book a "magical nautical experience" on a boat at a number of chic locations around Europe, including Ibiza, Venice, Athens, Paris, Corfu and Santorini.

A spokesperson says the new transport option is "in response to rising demand for Uber’s services in tourist hotspots around Europe".

Uber Yacht in Ibiza

Perhaps the most luxe option is Uber Yacht in Ibiza - holidaymakers will be able to pre-book a private yacht for the day directly via Uber Reserve. 

Departing from Ibiza Town Marina every day at 12pm, Uber Yacht will offer groups of up to 8 people the opportunity to sail around the white isle in a luxurious Sunseeker Yacht for just €200 (AU$322) per head.

Each 8-hour trip comes with its own personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne and locally sourced artisan snacks. Uber Black transfers to and from the yacht are included - from anywhere on the island. 

Uber Yacht will be available to pre-book via Uber Reserve in Ibiza starting on July 26 and a minimum of 24 hours in advance, with the product available between August 3-20. 

Uber Limo Boat in Venice

Another headliner in Uber’s summer boat series include a first-of-its-kind water transport service in Venice’s Laguna, which will start on July 3.

Customers can use the Uber app to summon a ‘Limo Boat’ on-demand to get around the Venetian Lagoon at the tap of a button. At launch there will be nearly 200 dedicated Pick Up and Drop Off points located in the Venetian Lagoon. 

Priced from €120 (AU$193) per trip, the boat service can accommodate up to 6 people per trip and will be available to book on demand between 8am and 8pm each day. 

Uber Boat in Greece (Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu)

From July 4, Uber Boat in Greece will expand to Mykonos, and then later in July to Athens, Corfu and Santorini. Available to book in the Uber app, the product will allow visitors to travel in style to beach clubs, visit scenic coves and reach remote locales.

Those visiting Paris this summer can jump aboard an all-electric boat to enjoy an Uber Cruise, a free one-hour private tour down the river Seine with their friends or family. While on the Cruise, they will take in views of Notre Dame, Le Louvre and the Eiffel Tower all while sipping some bubbly. They will run from 3pm-10pm, departing every 20 mins from Pont Marie, Central Paris. Uber Cruise will be available to pre-book in the Uber app between July 12 and August 3, from anywhere in Paris.
