Frozen butter and cheese sandwiches to save time

Chelsea has 94k followers and according to her Instagram bio, she aims to share "realistic strategies you can maintain with ease."

She captioned her latest clip: "If you’ve ever wondered, can you freeze sandwiches for your kiddo's lunch boxes? The answer is: YES!

"This super quick hack has certainly saved me from stopping in at the bakery on the way to school or sending the kids to school with another lunch order - ultimately saving you time and money."

Rather than waking up early to prepare fresh lunches, she prepares them the night before, freezes them, and then cuts them up in the morning.

"Grab yourself a fresh loaf of bread and get buttering," she begins, as she films herself making multiple sandwiches.

She continues, "Put in your cheese or your kids' favourite toppings and simply pop in the freezer."

Chelsea then uses the plastic packaging that the loaf comes in and pulls it over the tower of sandwiches, seals it up, and places it in her freezer.

"By the next day your sandwiches will be frozen stiff," she said while using a butter knife to dislodge them from each other.

"Cut them up and pop them straight into the lunch boxes. Play around with your kids' favourite fillings and let me know how you go."

"This is traumatising"

And people definitely did let her know how they went... and it was not well while watching that video.

"Seriously? Yuck," one person said, while another wrote, "No thanks. Gross. I make them fresh the night before and they’re totally fine. I have four in school and two at home and honestly, this works just as quickly."

"Not for me. I think my kids deserve better than frozen butter and cheese sandwiches," said a different mum.

Another urged, "Pease don't do this. As a child who had to eat frozen sandwiches from my mum, they were not nice." Someone else replied to this saying, "My husband is still traumatised too."

Someone else asked, "Do they not go soggy or taste weird as they defrost?" to which Chelsea responded: "I've never had a complaint from the kids."

And this woman wrote, "So thankful for my brown mum who cooked me delicious nutritious food every morning for my lunch, not this."

Then from one extreme to the other, the commenters who actually liked the hack, LOVED IT: "Where have you been all my life! This is the BEST. HACK. EVER!!!!" one fan wrote.

Another said, "I do this too, saves so much time, absolutely life saver."

"This is so genius, thank you for sharing!!!" one follower praised.

"Oh my gosh!! I was making a fresh cheese sandwich every day - this is gold!" someone else raved.

Others suggested that these sandwiches work great for toasties too.

After reading the comments, Chelsea added a reply to everyone re-iterating "it's a massive time-saving hack in our household (and many other households)! It’s a game changer when it comes to the morning rush - one less thing to prep in the am is a massive win for us busy parents. As I always say, each to their own ❤️"
