Queensland swimming champion Emily Seebohm and reality TV star fiance Ryan Gallagher have fuelled rumours of a split after fans noticed some unusual social media activity.

Gallagher, who appeared in the 2018 season of Married At First Sight, shared a solo selfie this week with the couple’s one-year-old son, Sampson, captioned, “Dad’s little best mate,” amid rumours the couple has gone their separate ways.

Speculation escalated after the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram and Gallagher seemingly scrubbed images of Seebohm, including a previously shared photo showing the couple with their newborn.

Further raising eyebrows, Seebohm was spotted without her engagement ring during a recent mother-son outing at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, prompting concerned fans to ask, “Where’s Ryan?” on social media.

The couple became engaged in December 2022, months after meeting on the set of reality show The Challenge Australia.

Seebohm was contacted for comment but did not respond by the time of publication.

MEET THE QUIETER URBAN LEGEND

Shane Urban may not have chosen a life in the limelight like his little brother Keith, but he’s still managed to carve out quite a name for himself.

While singer Keith Urban can be found on stage playing to fans in some of the world’s biggest arenas or at glam Hollywood parties next to his actor wife Nicole Kidman, Shane is more at home between the flags.

The duo grew up in Caboolture, but Shane now lives on the Sunshine Coast, where he patrols Coolum Beach for Surf Lifesaving Queensland.

“In one patrol you can have CEOs of major companies … local hospitality staff, cleaners, and there is no difference between anyone,” he said.

“It’s a very humbling experience to share the same desire and intrinsic reward of just being there so that our beachgoers know that there are people watching out for them.”

Shane spends time with Keith, Nicole and their kids – Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret – whenever they get the chance. Keith was back in Australia for Christmas and often visits during holidays like Easter.

“Unfortunately, Keith and I don’t get to catch up as often as we would like,” Shane said. “It was, however, wonderful that we were able to catch up in Sydney these past Christmas holidays and spend some quality family time together.

“Our mum Marienne (pictured with her sons) is always beaming with pride when she has her two boys and family together in the same place.”

He said both he and his brother were “people-oriented”, something they got from their dad, Bob, and while Keith has used that to entertain audiences, Shane thinks it drove his passion for community projects.

He joined the Nipper program at 13, and has been working as Queensland’s Life Saving Services Coordinator for five years.

But taking on a job behind a desk has never stopped Shane from kitting up for volunteer patrolling.

“Everyday we take a lot for granted and I just think it is paying it forward, by giving back to the community,” he said.

TIKTOK SENSATION’S NEW MAN

Queensland TikTok sensation Latisha Clark has quietly debuted a new romance, and while she’s yet to confirm his identity publicly, Scoop can reveal who the mystery man is.

The 21-year-old influencer – daughter of award-winning content creator Kat Clark – shared a photo to Instagram on April 14 showing herself kissing an unidentified man at Coachella music festival.

The post quickly amassed more than 330,000 likes, with friends and fans flooding the comments section with hints such as “the cat’s out of the bag” and “finally!”

While Clark kept his face visible, she chose not to tag or name him, sparking a wave of speculation among her followers.

Scoop can confirm the man is Brisbane conveyancing paralegal Mitch Giorgas. Unlike Clark, Giorgas maintains a modest online presence, with private social media accounts and just over 1100 followers.

SUSIE O’NEILL’S NEW VIBE

Olympian-turned-broadcaster Susie O’Neill is back on the airwaves this week, and a noticeable shift in tone has caught the attention of fans and industry observers alike.

As part of Nova’s national holiday breakfast line-up, airing until April 24, O’Neill has joined hosts Mel Tracina and Matty Baseley for a two-week stint.

But while her return was expected, what’s turning heads is her refreshingly cheeky, unfiltered delivery.

A standout? When co-hosts Tracina and Baseley discussed Katy Perry’s spaceflight with Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, O’Neill fired back: “Did she smoke a bong up there?”

She later joked she’d consider joining OnlyFans “to show off my gardening skills.”

Speaking to The Saturday Courier-Mail, O’Neill said: “I am really enjoying it! It’s such a fun vibe.”

While she hasn’t commented on the tonal shift, Nova confirmed Mel, Matty and Susie are having a lot of fun, and agreed it’s been a great listen.

LACEY BROTHER’S BRUSH WITH FAME

Another week, another brush with Hollywood fame for notorious Gold Coast identity Jade Lacey.

One half of the infamous “Lacey brothers” ex-gangster duo, Jade has an uncanny knack of bumping into visiting movie stars – Owen Wilson being the latest.

Wilson is on the Glitter Strip to shoot his latest film, action drama Runner, and Lacey last week posted a pic of him and the Wedding Crashers star together on what appears to be the Surfers Paradise beachfront.

Lacey captioned the post with a memorable line from one of Wilson’s most popular movies, Zoolander: “ “Excuse me, brah”. To which co-star Ben “Derek Zoolander” Still replied: “You’re excused – and I’m not your ‘brah’.”

“And then like Derek I walked off into the moonlight …” Lacey commented.

“Honestly just quantum leapt into my favourite comedy actor!”

It comes after Lacey posted pics of him in recent months posing with visiting Hollywood heavyweights Mark Wahlberg and Jack Black.

Lacey and brother Dionne served years behind bars for crimes including a drug-related fatal shooting.

Since being released from jail in 2018, Jade has reinvented himself as a businessman selling luxury jewellery and watches.

He established a brand called VVS Only after securing the Australian distribution rights for American celebrity hip hop jeweller Rudolph “Freeze” Athouriste’s Miami company, whose designs have been worn by the likes of rappers Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne and Birdman.

CHATFIELD TO HEADLINE GREENS’ DANCE PARTY

Abbie Chatfield is set to headline a controversial Greens-backed DJ event in Brisbane next week, just days after the party was forced to backtrack on a planned Anzac Day fundraiser in Western Australia.

The outspoken podcaster and reality TV personality, who has long voiced support for the Greens, will act as MC at the VOTE music event on April 24 at The Brightside in Fortitude Valley.

Federal Greens leader Adam Bandt will return to the DJ booth, following a similar sold-out event in Melbourne last month.

While the Brisbane gig falls the day before Anzac Day, it comes at an awkward time for the minor party, which faced backlash for promoting a dance party fundraiser in Perth on April 25.

That event was hastily pulled from social media after veterans’ groups and political leaders slammed the decision as “deeply disrespectful”.

Tickets for the Brisbane event are $20, with local acts Platonic Sex and Asha Jefferies also on the bill.

MILES V TATE IN THE GYM

It was the battle of Queensland’s strongest pollies when former premier Steven Miles and Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate got together for a workout on the Glitter Strip last week.

The pair are from opposite sides of the political spectrum but share a love of powerlifting, and had a session together at Arundel gym Empire Fitness where Tate regularly pumps iron.

Miles posted a video of him and Tate working out together, talking up the barrel-chested mayor as “legit the country’s strongest politician”. “Health is everything but one thing about heavy lifting, it gets you pretty close together when you’re concentrating on the same bar,” Tate said in the video, referring to how a sweaty workout can even bring political adversaries apart.

Renowned gym junkie Miles took to social media in the dying days of last October’s state election campaign to show himself bench-pressing a personal best 100kg.

Tate, 66, has a PB of 165kg for the bench press, set almost 20 years ago, but still claims to be regularly benching 140kg.
