Since getting my dog Murray (fondly referred to as Moo) a few years ago, he has been an almost perfect member of our family.
He never does his business inside, rarely barks, and has yet to cost us any expensive visits to the vet. But, being a chocolate labrador, there has been one glaring issue - the shedding.
In the spring and summer, every year, there comes a point where vacuuming even twice a day isn’t enough. The vacuum will be full after finishing one room - perhaps even just one rug - because of the amount of hair that comes off his body.
You might think brushing him more regularly would help, but I can tell you right now that it doesn’t. He loves being brushed, but no matter how frequently you do it, everywhere you look, there will be Moo hair.
And, we accepted it - there was nothing we could do.
That is, until Samsung’s BESPOKE Jet Bot Combo AI vacuum and mop combo came into the picture.

Is this the solution pet owners have been looking for?
The dog and mop combo is a brand new robovac which specialises in pet hair management.
At its core, the product is like a luxe version of any other robovac you may have seen or tried before - just with some added bonuses for pet owners.
It has the capacity to vacuum, mop and sanitise either all in one go, or separately.
It also has powerful suction and a specialised brush designed to tackle pet hair on all different kinds of surfaces, and even includes a hair grinder, meaning there’s no need to cut or shred anything that could get tangled - it does it all for you.
Whilst moving around, the product uses AI object recognition and personalised ‘no go’ zones to navigate your home as precisely as possible, as well as finding stains to ensure they get completely dissolved.
After cleaning and during, it also disposes of the waste itself, making each time a no-mess affair.
But, it’s all the bells and whistles which make it special.
The appliance is managed through Samsung’s SmartThings App, meaning you can start the specific type of clean you want (whether it be vacuuming, mopping or both, only hitting certain rooms, or doing the entire house) from literally anywhere.
The app also has a Pet Care Service for us pet owners, which allows you to do a wide range of things if you're someone who keeps your pet inside when you’re not there. This includes everything from playing music to sensing barking and monitoring your pet with a camera.
The only catch is, this product will set you back $2499 - so is it really worth it?

My review of the Samsung BESPOKE Jet Bot Combo AI
My first impressions on the robovac were that it was extremely easy to set up, albeit a bit heavy.
It comes mostly pre-built, with the only set up elements required including putting on a few final touches, filling up the clean water container, and connecting it to the app - which you can get on all types of phones.
After the robovac has fully charged, it’s ready to map your house for the first time.
For me, this was a relatively quick endeavour, and you can get it to work while vacuuming. During this process, it will work its way through your house, and figure out a map which you can later customise and adjust to suit your needs, which worked pretty accurately in my experience.
Then, it was time to play.
The first test for me was to figure out how well my very anxious dog Moo would get along with it, and in that, the robovac passed with flying colours.
Initially, I would say he was curious, sniffing it and backing away. Now, he’s almost too comfortable with it, letting it vacuum around him with no barking or complaints.
Next came consistency with navigation, as I know for a lot of robot vacuums locating different rooms in your house can be a struggle.
I will admit, for this robovac, this was a slight issue. It would go through periods of cleaning every room completely fine, and others where it would clean less than half and call it a day. But, this was mostly amended by moving the WiFi closer to the charging station.
In my house, I do think part of this issue was a slightly taller rug which would prevent the vacuum from entering certain rooms, particularly with the mop pads attached - so just be wary if this is the case for you! Now, if I want it to mop the whole house, I simply roll it up until it’s done.
Now, you’re probably wondering, did it clean up the dog hair? I can confirm that yes, yes it did. And, the convenience of the SmartThings app made it even better.
During the entirety of the past month, I could have Moo inside in the morning, and then select rooms to clean remotely during the day while I was at work, or schedule it to do so via the app, so everything would be spotless when I got home.
Even on the days where the robovac was having problems with navigation and couldn’t find a room (which I could see immediately on the app via a 'cleaning report', provided after each clean), I could set it afterwards only to clean that room, and it would finish the job seamlessly.
The app is also able to notify you with all kinds of other updates, for example if something gets stuck in the vacuum, if the vacuum itself is stuck somewhere, or if you need to change out the clean water tank.
That way, you can get on top of things when necessary, without having to monitor it too closely on a regular basis.
Final thoughts
If you’d told me a month ago that I would be recommending a $2499 product, I’d tell you you must be joking.
But, here I am doing it.
Truly, my floors have never been cleaner than they have been using the Samsung BESPOKE Jet Bot Combo AI.
Sure, you could vacuum and mop manually, but the convenience of a device like this is unmatched. It enables you to use the SmartThings app to control it completely remotely, meaning no matter where you are you can always ensure you’ll come home to a clean house.
And, it is a real game changer for pet owners - if you have a labrador, you know what I face every day, and this product tackled it with ease.
Of course, it’s not a necessity, but if you’ve got some extra cash laying around to invest in something like this, I would highly recommend it.
