MINTED
Abu Dhabi excels in five-star luxury and at the top of the pile sits the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. The spectacular setting, with point-blank views of the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, is unbeatable. Instagram opportunities abound on the pool deck and at the private beach. From $550 per night; ritzcarlton.com.
MID
It may offer serene experiences aplenty, but Abu Dhabi isn’t short on adrenaline-inducing activities. From the roller-coasters of Ferrari World, to the near-vertical slides of Yas Waterworld and the thump of dropping wads of cash in Marina Mall, there’s lots to get hearts racing.
MODEST
The feel of cool marble under naked feet, the sight of dazzling pillars inlaid with mother-of-pearl, the soothing sound of gentle music; it’s impossible not to be overcome with the sheer majesty of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Entry is free.
TRAVEL NOTES
The mosque dazzles by day, but the night-light display offers a different atmosphere when the buildings are ignited in purple hues. Consider travelling outside May and June, when Ramadan hours limit many attractions.
