'Revolting' Weet-Bix recipe causes outrage among Aussies

A recipe on the Weet-Bix website has sparked online debate after Aussies lashed out at the unconventional flavour combination.
The dish, called Grilled Weet-Bix with Marmite and cheese, was shared in a Reddit post to the r/Australia forum, where people wasted no time voicing their horror.

The unconventional snack
The post, which now has over 1.5k likes and 220 comments, was titled: "The Weet-Bix recipes page has some... interesting ideas," and a screenshot of the page was attached.
"Try this tasty combination of three classic ingredients," the recipe description read.
The recipe instructs people to spread Weet-Bix biscuits with Marmite and then use a cheese slicer to cover the top of the biscuits in thinly sliced Edam cheese.
Then, you're meant to place the biscuits under the oven grill for 2-3 minutes until the cheese begins to turn golden brown.
It even suggests adding some thin slices of tomato or avocado for "extra goodness."

"Uncultured swine"
One commenter summed up everyone's thoughts exactly: "I can feel the moisture being drained from my mouth just looking at those. Your whole head would just invert."
Others took the most issue with the addition of Marmite instead of Vegemite.
"Serving Marmite on Weet-Bix should be a bootable offence! Straight back to Pommy land where you belong, you uncultured swine," someone joked.
And the post also ignited a broader conversation about how Aussies like to enjoy their Weet-Bix.
"I just eat mine dry. I acknowledge I'm a bit of a freak like that. I just prefer dry and crunchy textures in my food," they said.
"I used to take them to school slathered in butter and cut in half," another added.
