Jesinta Franklin’s lockdown wardrobe revealed

Like many Aussies, model Jesinta Franklin has paired back her everyday wardrobe substantially because of lockdowns. Here’s what she’s been wearing.

How would you describe your personal style?

Right now in lockdown, it’s all about comfort. There isn’t much dressing up going on and I have been relying on the good quality staple pieces in my wardrobe. I have been living in activewear, oversized cardigans and sweatpants.

Who are your style icons?

As far as style icons, I can’t go past Grace Kelly and Princess Diana. For the modern day muse I love Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, she always looks so elegant.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?

I love a good op shop or secondhand find at a market. Some of my best winter coats are vintage pieces. I have an olive Chanel blazer from the 80’s which I absolutely adore!

What are your favourite brands?

I have recently purchased from SIR the label, they have great sweatpants. Henne for stylish tops that are breastfeeding friendly and I love Seafolly for a classic piece of swimwear that last for seasons!

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

So many! Style shouldn’t always be perfect though, I think it’s good not to take it too seriously sometimes and just have a bit of fun.

What is the most surprising thing in your wardrobe?

Maybe not surprising but the most interesting piece I have is a pair of shoes I wore to Vera Wang’s fashion show during NYFW. They were from the runway and very high fashion.

Top three wardrobe must haves?

A great pair of jeans, a tailored black blazer and a classic one-piece swimsuit.

What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe and why?

My Vera Wang wedding dress. I can’t wait to play dress ups with my daughter Tullulah, I am keeping it for her.

Summer or winter fashion?

Summer for sure! I love living in a swimsuit during the warmer months.

What kind of handbag do you use?

I currently don’t use a handbag, I just put my personal items in my kids nappy bag! Very unglamourous but I already leave the house with so much for the kids I don’t have the hands for an extra bag.

Favourite swimwear style?

A really well-fitted two-piece swimsuit.

Denim or dresses?

Denim.

Minimalist or clothes hoarder?

Minimalist, I think it’s easier to dress when there is less in your wardrobe.

Heels or sneakers?

Pre kids I would have said heels. But now I have started collecting sneakers. My current favourites are Nike.

Is there anything from your wardrobe you’ve regretted throwing out?

I have never thrown anything away, I always donate or pass on. So even if I have regretted it, I know that the piece has a good new home.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? And do you have a favourite pair?

I have a lot of shoes, but my husband has more! My favourite changes all the time depending on the season, occasion and my mood.
