After two Covid-enforced date changes, this couple finally made it down the aisle - after a very long wait.

This couple waited 847 days to get married, so they made sure it was a party to remember when the day finally came.
Sia Cambaclis and Savva Koulouris married on May 29 this year at the St George Greek Orthodox Church after Covid forced two reschedules.
The Highgate Hill couple – who have been together for six years – held their reception at The Greek Club for their 265 guests (“A big fat Greek wedding,” Sia joked).
“We waited 847 days since we were engaged to have our wedding!’’ she says.
“We even had a sign inside that had this written on it, and we encouraged everyone to party harder because of this.’’
The couple danced their first dance to Resolution by Matt Corby, and honeymooned in the Whitsundays.
How did you meet?
We met 13 years ago, when we were 13 years old, through our parents, who were best friends.
They made us all have dinner together and we became best friends from that night on.
How did he propose?
Savva proposed by the beach in Byron Bay. He had an events company set up the most beautiful sunset picnic on a hill overlooking the coastline.
When I thought we were walking to the bar for drinks, we took a detour where I saw the words “Marry me?” in neon lights.
Hen’s/buck’s nights?
A girls’ weekend at the Gold Coast. My bridal party decorated the house and we had a Coachella themed party.
The boys had a weekend in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Any unique details about your wedding?
We got married in the same church both our parents did, so it was a very sentimental moment for us. As wedding favours, each guest received a signature choc or white choc Nodo donut (chosen by the bride as she’s gluten-free).
What was the standout moment of the day?
Definitely walking out of the church as a married couple, we had rose petals thrown on us, confetti guns fired and the whole crowd cheering.
The photos were epic and it was such a fun moment for us.
What would you do differently?
Very cliche answer, but nothing. We were just so lucky to have had our wedding after two previous cancellations.
What impact did Covid have on your wedding?
The venue was always the same, but our original wedding date was exactly one year prior, May 30, 2020.
We then had a date in September pencilled in, but decided it was best to wait until restrictions fully eased in 2021.
When did you decide to change plans?
One month before our wedding, it was actually the day after we got home from our hen’s/buck’s weekend. It was mayhem trying to change a wedding with such short notice.
