Brisbane comedian Mel Buttle has announced the birth of her first baby after keeping it a secret for months.
The Qweekend columnist took to social media yesterday to share the news she had become a mum, sharing a picture of her now seven-week-old son.
Buttle’s partner of four years gave birth to their little boy on September 13 at Ipswich Hospital with their new bundle weighing just over 4kg.
Watching the birth of her son, whose name Buttle is keeping private for now, was life-changing says the entertainer.
“My partner carried him and gave birth to him and he’s our first baby, we love him so much,” said Buttle.
“He’s the best and the cutest. He’s so chilled, very calm and he’s very good at being on the plane and going to cafes.”
Buttle said she’s been reluctant to share news of her baby to protect his privacy.
Buttle’s partner is currently on maternity leave and the comedian says she’s taken up the ‘night shift’ with the baby and is embracing the juggle with comedy gigs and filming.
