Brisbane’s best value all-you-can-eat restaurant

Tucked away in a southern Brisbane backstreet, this restaurant has developed a cult following for its unlimited chicken, chip and drink deal for under $25.

TASTE TEST: Bonchon Korean fried chicken arrives in Australia

Tucked away in a suburban backstreet, crowds queue at its doors alongside an endless procession of delivery drivers.

Meet Seoul Bistro in Sunnybank – one of Brisbane’s most popular and best value restaurants.

This understated, humble eatery, specialising in Korean-inspired fried chicken, has become a cult sensation in the city for those with big appetites and small budgets.

While it is continually one of the top five restaurants in Brisbane on delivery platform Uber Eats, its real popularity stems from its incredible $24.90 all-you-can-eat deal, where patrons can feed on unlimited chicken wings, chips, garlic bread and iced tea for 90 minutes.

This contributes to the restaurant selling more than a whopping 1000kg of chicken wings, 500kg of fries, 300 loaves of bread and 1500L of iced tea a week. It also means the business is one of the biggest buyers of chicken wings in Brisbane.

Rob McMullen, who owns the eatery with his brother Paul, said their success was down to their uncompromising quality and dedication to consistency, preparing their beloved wings over 24 hours to make sure they’re the best possible.

“We have very strict standards and don’t cut any corners,” he said. “We could reduce costs and reduce how we do it but we always want to maintain the delicious food that keeps people coming back.”

While rising costs of ingredients, wages and electricity are making it trickier than ever to offer a great affordable offer, Mr McMullen said that’s what diners wanted.

“I think people are being much more conservative on what they’re spending,” he said.

“I think value for money is critical at the moment because people are being squeezed from every direction.”

And that’s why The Sunday Mail has created the inaugural delicious. 50 Under $50 – a guide to Brisbane’s most affordable and great value restaurants, where two diners can eat out for less than $50 (excluding drinks and dessert).

The list highlights the hidden treasures and local haunts serving up great flavours for less, whether it be fried chicken and burgers or Sudanese and Sri Lankan curries, there’s something for all cravings.
