Hundreds of thousands of people lined the banks of the Brisbane River for this year’s event, which marks the start of the Brisbane Festival and culminated in an impressive fireworks display.
TikTok user Amelia Woodhouse shared a video of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Hornet fly overs, as ADF take part each year with C17 and ARH Tiger Helicopters and a F/A-18F Super Hornet practice runs taking place over Brisbane.
The video shows a river of fireworks streaming from Story Bridge at Kangaroo Point.
The Riverfire crowd of more than 450,000 endured soaring temperatures, with Brisbane reaching 32.9C.
Reddit user justjustin2300 shared a view of Victoria Bridge after the fireworks, with thousands leaving the banks after the display.
The sudden departure saw trains swamped by passengers, causing delays across the network.
Despite the chaotic end to the night for commuters, Riverfire itself was praised online by those who attended, with many sharing stunning images from the popular event.
