Queenslander wins $100m in Powerball’s recording $200m draw

The Queenslander who is $100 million richer after taking out division one in last night’s record Powerball draw has revealed the first thing they did when they won the record prize.

A woman from Hawthorne discovered she had won $100 million on her way to the gym this morning.

A woman cancelled her gym class this morning after she made the heart-racing discovery around 6am.

She came forward immediately to confirm the surreal discovery, ending the search for Powerball’s second mystery jackpot winner.

“Oh my god. Is this even real?!” she gasped when she confirmed the new-found fortune.

“This feels like a dream, and I just need to wake up.

“It was an early wakeup call when I decided to pull my ticket out at 6am to check it while getting ready for the gym.

“I scanned the ticket on The Lott app and all the winning numbers immediately lit up and I saw that I’d won $100 million on my phone.”

The woman said she paced back and forth to question if it was real.

“I immediately hopped into my car, held onto the ticket for dear life and called my dad for some advice,” she said.

“Last week I had a Powerball entry into the $150 million draw, and I had won on that ticket. I decided to use the winnings to purchase another ticket into the record-breaking $200 million draw.”

The woman said the win was going to change a lot of people’s lives.

“It’s going to do a lot of good.” she said.

“Gym is cancelled for today and champagne is on the house!”

The winning numbers were 12, 33, 23, 35, 1, 26 and 32, plus the winning Powerball number of 10.

The Queensland woman will share it with a mum from Singleton in NSW who said, despite the massive win, her partner was unlikely to retire as he “loved his job”.

“There’s always a lot of hypothetical questions of what I would want to do but now I’m just lost for words. I have no idea,” the winning NSW mum said.

“My partner is here with me now. He’s a bit in shock. He loves his job, so I don’t know if he’ll be retiring.”
