Brisbane’s $3.6b Queen’s Wharf development is set to open later this year. Here we take a look at concept images showing what to expect from its top venue spaces.
NEW JOBS: Queen’s Wharf to launch major recruitment blitz
1 Leisure Deck (level seven between the resort’s four towers)
• 35m above street level, 12,000sq m – equivalent to more than two football fields of space.
• Mixed use for public and The Star Grand hotel guests.
• Signature food and beverage venue.
• Three swimming pools, sauna, steam room, gym and pool bar.
2 Aloria (Sky Deck, western end)
• The signature restaurant at The Star Brisbane.
• Open lunch and dinner for more than 100 people. Indoor and outdoor dining.
• Will feature dry-aged beef, Queensland’s world-class seafood and premium cellar in the sky.
3 Cicada Blu (Sky Deck, centre)
• Open-air bar 100m above the Brisbane River.
• Bespoke selection of local and international beers, ciders and wines.
• Views from CBD to Moreton Bay.
4 Babblers (Sky Deck, eastern side)
• All-day relaxed dining 365 days a year.
• Seating for about 90 people through indoor and outdoor dining.
• Specialities – handcrafted flatbreads, coffee, local craft beer and wine.
• Affectionately named after the gregarious Babbler bird family.
5 Events Centre Ballroom (level six)
• Home to the city’s largest hotel ballroom at 2000sq m with floor-to-ceiling windows.
• Capacity to host 1800 people (cocktail setting) and 1440 (banquet setting).
• Flexibility to be spilt into five separate serviceable event spaces.
6 Employee Dining Room (level one)
• The largest restaurant at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.
• Can cater for 500-600 team members at one time with around 3000 passing through each day.
• Free meal once a day for staff.
7 Fat Noodle (level five)
• Created by top celebrity chef Luke Nguyen.
• Inspired by South-East Asia’s street food scene, home to the legendary 20-hour Fat Pho Noodles.
• New dishes include beef rib pho and crumbed pork bo la lot with betel leaf and lemongrass served on an Asian slaw.
8 Sports Bar (level five)
• Boasts more than 100sq m of mega LED screens, stadium-like surround sound and wraparound floor-to-ceiling glass with views over the Brisbane River.
• Three exclusive VIP booths large enough to seat the Brisbane Broncos team.
• The venue to celebrate the world’s biggest matches, races and games.
9 Cherry Bar (level five)
• 360-degree bar in the middle of the resort.
• Vibrant decor, cool cocktails.
• The chic companion to The Star’s Sydney and Gold Coast venues by the same name.
10 Cucina Regina (level four)
• Italian restaurant, with “regina” the Italian for Queen.
• Riverfront terrace dining on the same level as the Neville Bonner Bridge.
• Will specialise in antipasto, woodfire pizzas, homemade pasta, finishing dishes tableside, dessert trolleys and cocktails.
