A top psychic has revealed exactly why most Australians come to her for advice – and what works 99 per cent of the time.

A psychic has revealed exactly why Australians come to her for advice and what they seek guidance on.

Alla Kuzmis is a Melbourne-based psychic, with her biggest gift being energy reading. She said she didn’t need much to be able to connect with spirit guides to receive messages for her clients.

“My opening to any reading is allow me to tell you about you, what you need to work on what you need to let go of and what you mean to acknowledge,” she said.

“I start off without them literally saying a word except hello and I’ve already had all these messages because of that one interaction on text.”

She said it often surprised her clients, and 99 per cent of the time the message she initially gives them is why they have come to see her. The other one per cent is what the customer needed to hear.

Ms Kuzmis said a lot of the time people come to her to find out when they will get pregnant, or when they will fall in love — essentially addressing any “fear factors” when they deviate outside the “norm”.

She said she offers guidance that other professionals — such as psychologists — can’t as she can give advice on topics such as love. She added that these other professionals are much better suited to advise on issues such as anxiety.

“They’re not going to say what’s going to happen or what kind of person you’re dealing with,” she said.

“When you do a reading, you can read into a person’s energy and whether they’re going to come back into your life. These are the questions people have and you’re not going to get that out of a psychologist.”

She said people want an alternative approach to things, and that the majority of her clients were repeat customers. Ms Kuzmis said it was something she really enjoyed because she loved seeing how people’s journeys unfolded.

“It’s very important that not only are they getting the validation, but that I understand that they’re getting exactly what spirit needed them to hear,” she said.

“And I want to see the outcome of it as well. So I never drop anybody. I want to see where it’s all heading. I love being part of journey with them.”

One of Ms Kuzmis’ clients is Amanda Goff, formerly known as Samantha X. Ms Goff said she has seen psychics for 15 years due to her interest in what happens to people before they die.

“For me personally, it’s a fascination with the afterlife and I’ve always been so compelled to that world,” she said, adding that as she got older that fascination grew.

She also likes the comfort that psychics and mediums give her, being able to go in with a list of questions that she wants answered.

“I remember once a psychic told me years and years ago I’d write books, and I thought, what am I gonna write books about? And then I wrote three books, years later,” she joked.

She recently published Misfit. The unravelling of Samantha X.

Ms Goff said like with anything she is careful not to be too reliant on psychics, but is understanding that more people are seeking comfort than ever.

“I think more than ever, I think we live in a society that’s almost forgetting how to connect with each other,” she said.

“And we outsource intimacy, we outsourced connection, and we outsource support. And lots of us live on our own, myself included. I know that when I see Alla, I feel all connected.”

Ms Kuzmis said she understands that a lot of people would be sceptical about the work she does, but it is never her job to make a nonbeliever believe as they “may not be ready”.

“I’ll be honest with you, a majority of the people who do come, they’ve already been through quite a journey,” she said.

“There’s something that really broke them down. There is something that really hurt them, upset them. It could be a relationship breakdown, some sort of loss. Whatever it is, their soul would have been through something and that’s what guided them to get that reading.”

But, for sceptics, she doesn’t try to push them to believe as she has no power over them. She said she gets her validation from the people who do see her.
