The Playford Hotel on North Terrace continues South Australia’s great tourism bounce back from the darkest days of the pandemic with completion of a multimillion-dollar refurbishment.

From its art nouveau restaurant Luma with its dramatic 800m lighting sculpture, to its 182 upgraded rooms within a stroll or tram ride of the cultural, sport, biomedical and shopping precincts, the multimillion-dollar refurbishment is the latest vote of confidence in the booming SA tourism market.

Since the pandemic brought tourism and hospitality to a juddering halt with lockdowns, social distancing, crowd limits and more, SA has seen 10 major hotels open their doors, three major renovations, and five more hotels scheduled to open their doors next year.
