A blind border collie in Queensland has delighted TikTok users when he donned a pair of googly eyes for a super-cute video.
The footage was filmed by Alexa Lee in the Gold Coast last month, and shows her dog Stevie wearing the fake eyes after a commenter on TikTok requested it.
Ms Lee, who is a veterinarian, told Storyful that one-year-old Stevie was born with a rare condition called micropthalmia, which means his eyes did not fully develop.
She said she met Stevie when he was just two months old while she was at a clinical placement at a local shelter during her final year of school.
“We made the executive decision to surgically remove his eyes to prevent him from unintentionally causing further damage and limit the potential for infection,” Ms Lee told Storyful.
She fostered Stevie while he recovered from his surgery, eventually adopting him, and he now lives with her and her other border collie, Bobby.
“He is the happiest dog in the world, such a good sport, full of love, and nothing will stop him from doing absolutely everything a normal dog would and even more,” she said.
