A close call between a snake catcher and a deadly eastern brown has been caught on camera as the “massive” reptile was being removed from a home in Dayboro, north of Brisbane.
Footage from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 via Storyful shows the “defensive” snake lunge at snake catcher Brandon Gifford after it was captured while putting up a fight as it tried to take refuge in bush outside the home.
“This is Australia’s deadliest snake. The second most venomous in the world. There’s no way that the family want him out in the garden,” Mr Gifford said.
The video then shows the snake being released in nearby bushland.
“That’s the best part of every catch. Getting to see them going back into the wild,” Mr Gifford said.
